Shostakovich- Prelude Op.34 No.1
This piece starts like a simple waltz; however, it adds an extra beat in the following bars and also add an accelerando to interruption of the rhythm. This is Shostakovich’s way of making fun of the Waltz is always something unexpected happening.
This piece must be played with humour, observing all the tempo and dynamic marking.
This performer did show different characters with interesting ideas to perform this piece.
